I’ve lost count of the days, but yesterday I made a very nice pot of coffee with our new syphon coffee maker. Kevin made a nice movie of me making a nice pot of coffee with our new syphon coffee maker http://vimeo.com/21297526 Then we each had a nice cup of coffee. So smooth…..

The first single and accompanying music video for one of the songs on (i)’s forth-coming 3rd album. since this is the whole make-a-day thing we are releasing it early to this select viewing audience. I know you all feel the honor.
Materials: video we shot when Kevin was here visiting, G9, mac/edit, zooom, garageband, protools, Kevin’s computer, keyboard, drums.
Process: edit down footage, write crazy song, put together, export
Reflection: Kevin and I have been developing this top secret project since he came to visit over christmas break. we decided it would be much more fun than taking our picture at all these prime locations, which of course it was.
1) 5 second dance parties are genius. everyone should have atleast one 5 second dance party per day.
2) 2 minutes can be an excruciating amount of time
3) as Kevin and I have long ago concurred (after an especially poignant episode of peep show) the world is just people walking into rooms and saying things. similarly Kevin and I’s song is just us turning on recording devices and saying things.
Bobby records the song. Kevin records the song. Put the audio into computer and adjust the sound levels, eq, compress… etc. Put the videos together and upload.
Project: an attempt at a song for Kate’s new album.
Process: Put casio keyboard on drum machine, record lots of parts on top of it. Bounce to disk.
Reflection: I like little bursts of creativity that can result in crazy techno music. I also like secret video/music projects that will make others happy went it hits the web!… I’ve said too much.
Take home tests: I often feel lucky to get the news that a test will be a “take home.” This feeling comes from the face that I will not have to spend hours studying and preparing for the hour where you prove your knowledge of the subject.
While working on the take home, that lucky feeling wears off because I realize that I’m not saving the time I would have studying, and that now the standards have been raised to the point where there is no excuse for poor performance.
Luckily, this one wasn’t too bad, and it’s always good to have these “skills” in the future, and oh yeah… scholarship this semester!!
