Today I organized my chord book and put it all together with a cover from an old notebook some trusty ducktape and some brads. I decoreated the cover with a sharpie metallic marker.

I have kept whatever chords have someone made it in, in mixed set of A4 and 8/12×11 cover sheets all disorganized and full of songs I dont ever play so I went through and culled the ones I didnt like to play and printed new sheets for new songs.

I still have a lot of empty spaces and am taking new song suggestions.

This is the kitchen backdrop for the animation project Kevin W. Witchger and I are working on together. soon. because he loves to do this and thinks its a good idea…. I will be working on this throught lent to get all the elements drawn and painted.

I like watercolors. I get too greedy with the color. I think less color might be better then I forget when I get into it and keep adding more and more.

This is a recipe adapted from delectablyfree.com for Summer Rolls filled with Burrito fixins.

Sadly it was pretty gross.

The rice wrappers are kinda bland without the sweet spicy peanut sauce from the traditional summer rolls. I think the burrito version could be rescued with Cosmic Cantina taco salad dressing as dip (which i think is equal parts: honey, soy sauce and olive oil?…maybe also some hot peppers -there may be apple cider vinegar in there?)

Recipe:
Rice Wrappers, soaked a few minutes in hot water, dried off
Fillings:
-Avocados, thin sliced
-Lettuce
-Black Beans (prepared in olive oil, peppers, onion, garlic, cumin; chilled & add a splash of balsamic vinegar)
-Salsa (tomatoes, onion, green peppers, hot peppers, garlic, lime juice, salt and pepper)
-Cilantro svp

This was for part of a non-representational line project Ive been working on lately. I dont have a good way of articulating it yet. Diagramming theories is as close as Ive come. This is Plato’s Receptacle.

Im trying to develop and effective way of presenting/explaining them but Im stuck.

Ive been having trouble waking up lately (read the last 27 years). I was thinking about the most pleasurable ways to wake up in the morning and of the few times when I was using a clock radio to wake me up and a great wake up song came on how it changes the whole day.

So to help me feel like getting out of bed in the snowy dark of Montreal winters, Ive (started) made a play list of wake-up songs that you cant help but get excited and get up to. I havent tested all of these to make sure they work but here are the first 50. Youtube Playlist

Make a Day 4: Re-Make B-day Badge, originally uploaded by katian.

Yesterday was Bonnie’s B-day and I got this seemingly crappy cardboard ‘Its my Birthday’ Badge from the dollar store for her. I say seemingly because once you take a closer look you see it has 6 flashing LEDs embedded in it and whats better? its mad easy to take apart!

The materials include: the original materials of the badge and packaging, the inverse part of some sparkly green sticker letters, a straw, 2 expired bic holsters and a used gum container.

Now she can enjoy its my birthday badge all year round (and by she I mean me until I get around to mailing -ie destroying- it) I did skype and show it to her atleast…

I had this idea to make for mom for christmas this year but got to frustrated with the computer crashing and the internet locking up at home. I decided to try again fresh even tho its missing January.

I ran into a problem in April when I ran out of pictures. Can you send/post to flickr for your last April pictures? (I started culling from Bliss we can atleast count on her!) Also I notice a lack of Mom pictures so lets all get on that.

The theme is: *One year ago this month* (so its pictures from a year ago that month.) My friend Forrest made this website thing which was the inspiration, plug in your flickr name and get nostalgic: http://nostalgiamachine.com

I want to make them so you can fit them in a used CD case (and we can all also remember a year ago when CDs were still -barely- relevant) and flip around the front so it stands up and you store the other months in the other side. print front&back on shiny cardstock.

I keep meaning to get a panorama of the city from the secret park. I went up yesterday afternoon when it was sunny to shoot. It was unfortunately WAY to cloudy.

Process: I keep trying songs I only know one part of and have no idea how the rest of it goes. I only know the D/sus2/sus4 bit at the beggining and the ‘been trying to get down to the heart of the matter’ bit.

Reflection: this was fun to learn, not too hard just some high bits but I cant do anything about that bt laugh. i did catch myself a few times when i started to speed up. this one really needs the bass. I like to learn songs with other people in mind to play them for……so send me your suggestions!
